Our client, a qualified ski instructor who had been skiing for around eight years, was injured following an accident while skiing on the Hintertux Glacier.
Another skier hit our client from behind and she suffered a fractured left shoulder, fractured left arm, dislocated left shoulder, two black eyes, cuts to her head, heavy bruising, and neck and back pain. She was taken by air ambulance to a local hospital in Austria.
We obtained the Austrian police report and a statement from an English witness. The other skier contested liability but the Austrian authorities brought criminal proceedings against him. He was found guilty and his insurers accepted liability.
We recovered €20,000 compensation for our client to cover personal injury, loss or earnings from her ski instructor job, her ruined holiday and her medical and travel expenses.
