I am a Paralegal assisting with personal injury claims involving road traffic accidents. I also assist with fatal accident and secondary victim claims.
As part of my role, I assist with the day-to-day running of claims, taking witness statements, preparing claims for litigation, as well as most aspects of litigation.
What Inspired You to Get Into Law?
In 2016, I started working as a voluntary Special Constable for Derbyshire Constabulary.
I would regularly attend road traffic accidents and, while I found being able to help people in their moment of need rewarding, I often thought about them after an incident. This is when my interest turned to wanting to help people after an incident or road traffic collision.
I then started working at Irwin Mitchell as an Admin Assistant within the Personal Injury department in 2017 and have progressed into the role of Paralegal.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is receiving positive feedback from clients and being able to support them through the claims process, assisting with their recovery and future needs. I enjoy building relationships with clients and knowing that they can reach out to me if they need any support or guidance.
What do you like best about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I feel like I'm part of a approachable and supportive firm.
Irwin Mitchell is also supporting me through my CILEX qualification, which is something that I probably wouldn’t have been able to do on my own. Irwin Mitchell always provide opportunities for career progression and I find this motivating.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
In my spare time, I like to go on walks with my family and friends exploring new places.
I have a keen interest in beauty therapy having worked in this industry before securing a Higher National Diploma from Derby Open University in Business Management relating to Beauty Therapy.
I also have an eight-year-old cat called George who gets a lot of attention.
"They constantly kept me informed on the progress of my case, arranged for three types of specialist medical assessment. They gave sound advice, gave clear guidance on possible outcomes and most of all were totally honest with me and structured my expectations on the process and time scales involved... Irwin Mitchell have proved outstanding, but two individuals have proved exemplary - Darren Wilson and Bethany Wale, without them I would never have found peace and they restored my faith in society again." - 5* Trustpilot review
"Because of the excellent service I received I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Irwin Mitchell to anyone. In particular Darren Wilson who was my case handler and Bethany Wale. Due to the complexity of my case it took a number of years to reach a conclusion. However, throughout they kept pushing the case forward, kept me very well informed, were patient and took the time to ensure I fully understood each step, were honest and supportive and helped make what was a difficult period a lot easier. Thank you" - 5* Trustpilot Review
"A huge thank you Darren and Bethany for all your help and support over the last year. I'm really grateful for the support and care you have both given me as I have really struggled with the whole process from the start but it definitely became a lot easier to deal with once you were on my case!" - 5* Trustpilot review
"I was fully informed of all my options at all times. The advice and contact was excellent at all times and assistance was always just a phone call away. If I was feeling anxious they fully explained and put my mind at ease. I would like to Thank Darren and Bethany for all their kind assistance through out" - 5* Trustpilot review
"From the start of my claim right to the very end, all I can say is thank you for everything you have done for me. I wasn’t just treated like a claim number, I was treated like a human being... They were always their when I needed to speak to them and were absolutely fantastic in handling my claim" - 5* Trustpilot review
