Biography
I am a senior associate in the Clinical Negligence team, based in our Manchester office. I have specialised in clinical negligence claims since qualifying in 2007.
I represent clients with a wide variety of matters, these include: birth injury, still birth, delay in diagnosis of cancer, gynaecology and spinal injury cases. I have a particular interest in cases involving delays in treating Herpes simplex virus, resulting in brain injury, and cases involving substandard care resulting in avoidable hysterectomy and fertility issues.
I am also a trustee of the Irwin Mitchell Charities Foundation (IMCF), a charity in its own right, established to raise funds for charities which are local to our offices.

What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
I studied law at the University of Liverpool and that convinced me that I wanted to pursue a career in law. My first experience of clinical negligence law was as a paralegal, prior to commencing my training to become a solicitor, and I knew then that I wanted to specialise in this area of law. I found the medical side of this area of law really interesting and found being able to make a real difference to people's lives really rewarding.
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
Achieving a good outcome for my clients, be that compensation to get them much needed treatment, support and financial security for the future, or in other cases being able to provide answers as to what went wrong or an apology from the Defendant.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
I enjoy working with a great team of people who are all committed to doing the very best for our clients. You also feel extremely well supported with immensely experienced lawyers on hand to assist.
What Do You Do Away From The Office?
I have a young son and a very energetic dog who both keep me extremely busy. I also enjoy family trips out to the Cheshire countryside. I was a keen horse rider before my son arrived and hope to find the time to "get back in the saddle" one day!
